The Swahili House

The hotel
Located in the bustling heart of Stone Town you find The Swahili House – traditional Swahili influences and authentic hospitality combined with modern day facilities.
The Swahili house was originally set up and used as an Indian merchant house in the 19th century. In the 125 years that followed the building became a home to one of the many sultan families that inhabited Zanzibar.  Most of the hotel has been restored into its original state, which makes your stay at the Swahili house a real Zanzibari experience!

The impressive building has 5 floors that are all built around a beautiful traditional Zanzibar courtyard. The hotel offers 23 rooms that are spread out over 4 floors.
Facilities include:
4 sultan suites – large, spacious rooms with balcony
19 deluxe rooms – standard double or twin rooms
All rooms are fitted with ceiling fans, mosquito nets and air conditioning
Each room has an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold water, soap, shampoo, towels and bottled water
